Terra Toys in Austin is the kind of place that makes grown adults stop dead in their tracks and just stand there, smiling, for no reason they can explain. Wooden toys, puppets, books, puzzles, nothing too screeny, blinky, or battery-operated in sight. You love it here the way you love a good old rerun of Friday Night Lights.

Could be the First Monday in Canton. Could be Round Top during the shows. Could be that one massive place off I-35 you keep meaning to stop at. You don't need a plan, you need a Saturday and comfortable shoes! You've found things at antique malls that you cannot explain why you own and also would never part with. A ceramic owl? Sure. A painting of a stranger? Already above the mantel. You live for the thrill of the hunt.
