Your Personality, But Make It a Texas Store
Your Personality, But Make It a Texas Store

Look, everybody's got a vibe. And if you grew up in Texas, or you've spent enough time here to know the difference between a kolache and a donut, you already know that our stores have a specific Texas personality too. I'm talkin' real personality. The kind that makes you drive forty minutes out of your way on a Saturday just to browse.

So we got to thinking: what if the way you spend your weekend, the stuff on your shelves, the way you outfit your house, what if all of that pointed back to one specific Texas store? Because honestly? It does.

If you're the Indie Music Lover → Cactus Music

Houston, TX

You've got opinions about pressing quality. You own records you haven't listened to yet but will someday, and that's just fine by you. Cactus Music on Shepherd is your people, a shop that's been around since 1975 and still smells like possibility (and maybe a bit like old cardboard). The staff will recommend something you've never heard of, and it'll end up being your favorite album of the year, or your least favorite, either way, you trust the process.

If you're the Eclectic, Design-Forward Type → Kuhl-Linscomb

Houston, TX

Your home looks like a magazine spread, but you'd never admit you tried that hard. You mix high and low like it's nothing. You have big opinions about drawer pulls. Kuhl-Linscomb is basically your spirit animal and real-life Pinterest board: six floors of furniture, art, beauty, and objects that feel like they were made just for you. You do not speed-walk through Kuhl-Linscomb, thats saved for trips to IKEA.

If you're the Whimsical Nostalgia Type → Terra Toys

Austin, TX

You cry at old commercials. You troll eBay for old McDonalds Happy Meal toys of yore. Terra Toys in Austin is the kind of place that makes grown adults stop dead in their tracks and just stand there, smiling, for no reason they can explain. Wooden toys, puppets, books, puzzles, nothing too screeny, blinky, or battery-operated in sight. You love it here the way you love a good old rerun of Friday Night Lights.

If you're the Treasure Hunter → Your Local Antique Mall

Everywhere, Texas

Could be the First Monday in Canton. Could be Round Top during the shows. Could be that one massive place off I-35 you keep meaning to stop at. You don't need a plan, you need a Saturday and comfortable shoes! You've found things at antique malls that you cannot explain why you own and also would never part with. A ceramic owl? Sure. A painting of a stranger? Already above the mantel. You live for the thrill of the hunt.

Whatever your personality is, there's a store somewhere in this state that's basically been waiting on you. Now go find it. Take cash. Don't rush.
